Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone, and Ignazio Boschetto make up the pop-opera trio Il Volo. Their name Il Volo is Italian for “The Flight”. Their genre of music is pop with some operatic elements and they are signing in one of the world’s most beautiful languages, Italian.
They also have a Spanish version of their original self-titled album Il Volo. It received two Latin Grammy nominations back in 2011. That album was mainly composed of Italian and international classics.
Their latest album was released in three different versions: an international and a Spanish version, entitled Grande Amore, and an Italian version, L’amore si muove. The new album, which was released September 2015, includes original songs and covers and has achieved the coveted number one spot of both the Billboard Top Classical Albums in Italy and on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums.
Currently Il Volo is doing a North American tour. This week you can catch them at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. They also have February tour dates in Washington, DC, Hershey, PA, and Chicago, IL. For a complete list of shows visit: http://www.ilvolomusic.com/en/tour/
